The silk Ikat fabric is dyed and woven by hand, explaining the little irregularities in the print.
The colours and designs are of ottoman inspiration and are created using natural dyes.
Regardless of the origin they all share ethnic, ritual or symbolic meaning.
Conventionally, Ikat fabrics are signs of class, status, wealth, power and prestige for those who use it. The reason is due to the time and complexity of skill immersed in its weaving making it outstanding among fabrics.
All over the world, from India, Central Asia, Southeast Asia to Japan including Africa and Latin America Ikat fabrics are produced with different techniques.
But it is the Ikat fabric from Uzbekistan that is still reigning in the world of fashion and interior design.
